The client for an SIU Video is an insurance company investigating a claim. They are typically searching for evidence of fraud. Insurance fraud is a big business in the U.S. The SIU investigator directs the shoot and the videographer records what is directed with date and time recorded in the frame. The original recoding is given to the SIU investigator. There is typically no editing needed. If editing is requested it would be of a duplication, not on the original recording.
